Calix offers a variety of classes for all our products and solutions. Public classes are held at convenient locations across country as well as at Calix offices in Petaluma and Minneapolis. Our Virtual Classes eliminate the need to travel while giving you the same level of training as in-person classes.

CMS Fundamentals (1 day)
Using the Calix Virtual Classroom, you'll be connected via the Internet to a live CMS server with attached C7 and E-Series equipment. You'll learn common tasks and procedures needed to manage Calix C7 and E-Series equipment through CMS. The Calix Virtual Classroom offers all the benefits of traditional classroom instruction, without the travel. Full course description

C7 Overview - ONLINE (2 hours)
Start your training when you want, where you want. Online courses provide core information and procedures you need to get started with Calix products, without leaving your desk. This 2-hour online course provides a high level overview of the key features and benefits of the C7 platform including services, network topologies, card description, and management interfaces. C7 Hands-on Fundamentals: Voice/Data, Turn-up, and Troubleshooting (3 days)
January 2010 - New Pricing - This three-day course takes you through the Calix C7 provisioning for turning up basic networks, transport services, and deploying telephony and data services over copper and fiber facilities. The content is tuned to technicians that provision C7 services regularly and perform maintenance activities utilizing CMS and includes troubleshooting of common applications. Location: In-person Classroom Only (Public or On-site) Prerequisite: Completion of C7 Overview online class or equivalent knowledge. Full course description

C7 Video Services (8 hours)
This course provides an overview of switched video services available on the C7 and covers key provisioning steps to turn-up FTTP and ADSL subscribers. Students will get hands-on experience utilizing Calix equipment to provision video services. Prerequisite: Completion of three-day Hands-On Fundamentals class or equivalent knowledge. C7 Ethernet and IP Service (3 hours 30 mins)
In this ½ day course we will provide an overview of the C7 Ethernet and IP services and include provisioning exercises for Ethernet uplinks, RSTP, subscriber connections, and troubleshooting. Prerequisite: Completion of three-day Hands-On Fundamentals class or equivalent knowledge.

C7 Voice over IP Services Training (3 hours 30 mins)
In this ½ day course we will provide information on configuring Ethernet and ATM uplinks, configuring H.248 interface groups, provisioning subscribers, and troubleshooting common real world problems.
Prerequisite: Completion of three-day Hands-On Fundamentals class or equivalent knowledge.

E-Series

E7 Overview - ONLINE (2 hours)
This course provides a basic overview of the Calix E7 Ethernet Services Access Platform. It includes a platform overview, services and applications overview, supported Ethernet services, system setup, and management. This course is a prerequisite for the E7 Hands-On Fundamentals virtual class.

E7 Hands-On Fundamentals (1 day)
Learn the essential skills and procedures you need to deploy the new E7 Ethernet services platform. In this class you will provision protected Ethernet transport networks using EAPS/ERPS and RSTP between E7 shelves. You'll also learn how to configure Ethernet aggregation with protected connections using RSTP and LAG. This course is available through our Virtual Classroom. Pseudowire Overview - ONLINE (2 hours)
This course covers the Calix pseudowire solution including pseudowire overview, timing modes, supported equipment, configuration steps, and configuration demonstration

E7 GPON Services (1 day)
Learn how to configure services for GPON subscribers on the new E7 in this 1-day course. You will get hands-on experience activating voice, video, and data services for residential subscribers as well as Transparent LAN Service for business subscribers. You will also learn how to setup T1 Pseudowire services. Prerequisites: Completion of E7 Hands-On Fundamentals and the Pseudowire Overview online class or equivalent knowledge Full course description

E-Series Active Ethernet Services (3 hours 30 mins)
Learn the essential skills and procedures you need to deploy Active Ethernet services to subscribers using Calix 700GX ONTs and the E-Series Active Ethernet (AE) platform. In this class you will learn how to provision voice, video, and data services for Active Ethernet subscribers using CMS or the ONT's Remote Management Interface. Full course description

E5-400 Hands-on Fundamentals (1 day)
Learn the essential skills and procedures you need to deploy the new E5-400 Ethernet and transport aggregation platform. In this class you will provision protected Ethernet transport networks using EAPS and RSTP between E5-400 shelves. You'll also learn how to configure Ethernet aggregation for access platforms like the C7 and E5-100, including configuring protected connections using RSTP and LAG.
